Crested Cream Legbar

This is an exciting breed we have recently added to our flock! We went back and forth deciding what blue egg layer to add and these delightful birds won the spot. We got our original stock from breeders including Greenfire Farm and Featherbaby Farm. Greenfire Farm was the original and only importer of this breed and they have beautiful birds with different options. 

This breed is auto-sexing meaning you can tell male/female right at hatch based on feather colors. This breed has a beautiful feather pattern and crested fluffy heads. They are a medium-sized bird that loves to forage. Though docile, they are a more flighty bird. They do not tend to go broody. They are amazing layers and lay a large spherical blue/green egg. We select our birds for very blue eggs. They tend to lay about 200-260 eggs/year. They tend to lay steadily even as 3-4 year olds.

Bright blue eggs

A beautiful bird that meets suggested Breed Standards

A bird with a good temperament 

We plan on hatching out our Crested Cream Legbars February-June each year.
